Rules of Play

The Inn of the Good Shepherd is operating the second Local Shopping Spree Raffle. 

Tickets & Guidelines

The raffle is being conducted by The Inn of the Good Shepherd, Charitable Business #131312092RR0001.

A total of 2,500 tickets will be printed and available for sale with a total of 26 prizes available to win in the raffle. Local Shopping Spree tickets are sold for $25 for one ticket, $40 for two tickets, or $100 for five tickets. Tickets will be issued in sequential order and will begin with 0001 to 2,500. License #M848015 - While 2,500 tickets will be printed, the odds of winning are dependent upon the number of tickets sold.

Guidelines are as follows: tickets must be purchased using a single method of payment. Tickets can be purchased online at www.localshoppingspreee.com, or at select business locations (see below). Tickets purchased online may be paid for by credit card. Tickets may be purchased in person at the locations below. If purchased at a business location, tickets will be distributed at the time of payment. For tickets purchased online, once payment has been received tickets will be mailed in one envelope to an Ontario address. Purchasers must be at least 19 years of age at the time of purchase. Tickets cannot be purchased in the name of a minor. Tickets must be purchased within the province of Ontario. Only tickets that have been paid for, and verified as paid for, will be entered into the draw. It is the responsibility of the ticket purchaser to ensure that all the necessary information is included at the time of purchase. In the event of an invalid credit card tickets will not be issued.

Tickets purchased through the online platform will be delivered by letter mail and will be mailed prior to the draw date. It is the responsibility of the ticket purchasers to ensure they have received their ticket stubs before the draw commences. The name on the tickets cannot be changed once the draw commences and tickets cannot be reimbursed once the draw commences. Ticket purchases are not tax-deductible.

Ticket Purchase Deadline: Midnight on Monday, May 9, 2022

The draw commences at 12 p.m. (noon) on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at The Inn of the Good Shepherd.

Ticket details & handling

Must be 19 years of age to purchase a raffle ticket. Tickets cannot be purchased in the name of a minor.

Tickets will be sold through the online raffle website, www.LocalShoppingSpree.com. Acceptable payment methods include Visa, Mastercard, Visa Debit Card, Mastercard Debit, and American Express.

The following individuals and all of their immediate family members residing in the same household are prohibited from ordering tickets: Board members, executives, and employees directly involved with charitable gaming.

The Inn of the Good Shepherd will oversee online ticket sales, generating tickets, processing of tickets, and mailing of ticket stubs. Ticket stubs will be mailed to the address provided and will arrive prior to the draw. It is the responsibility of the purchaser to ensure they have received their ticket stubs before the draw commences.

Raffle lottery tickets sold under a license issued in Ontario must not be advertised, offered for sale, sold, or ordered from outside of Ontario. However, while they are in Ontario, residents of other countries or provinces may purchase raffle tickets sold under a license issued in Ontario.

Draw Control

All draws will take place on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at the Inn of the Good Shepherd at 115 John St, Sarnia, ON N7T 2Z1. Tickets will be drawn by a representative of The Inn of the Good Shepherd from a drum with witnesses present.

Winning tickets will be removed from the drum as they are not eligible for subsequent draws. Individuals may win multiple prize packages IF they purchase multiple tickets.

In the event of an emergency, and the draw cannot happen as planned due to a technical issue or Act of God, the draw will take place on the earliest possible date at The Inn of the Good Shepherd at 115 John St, Sarnia, ON N7T 2Z1 following the emergency or natural disaster.

Draws will be broadcast live over social media, with tickets being drawn by a representative of The Inn of the Good Shepherd from a drum.

Ticket holders do not need to be present at the time of the draw to win. 

Prize Claim

Prizes will be awarded to the primary ticket holder. Any transfer of prizes must happen independently of the Local Shopping Spree. All of the prizes are awarded as-is. There is no cash value or refunds and it's the responsibility of the winner to make arrangements to pick up their prize at the Inn of the Good Shepherd. The primary ticket purchaser will be notified by phone as to what they have won and where/how to claim their prize.

Prize winners are asked to claim prizes in a timely manner following notification. Any prizes which are not claimed shall be secured for a period of six months from the date of the draw. Every reasonable effort will be made to contact the winner; including, attempting to locate the winner using the information provided on the purchasing agreement, by sending a registered letter, telephoning the individual, posting on the website and social media pages. Unclaimed prizes will be reported and a charitable allocation will be approved for the licensing body.

A complete list of winners will be posted online by Thursday, May 12, 2022, at localshoppingspree.com. Winners will also be publicly posted on social media channels and displayed on location at 115 John St., Sarnia, ON, N7T 2Z1. Contact information for all winners will also be shared with the licensing authority.
